OFFICE HOURS

Our office is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed most major holidays.

AFTER HOURS

For medical emergencies that occur after hours, please call (919) 319-9219. Please follow the prompts. You will be asked to leave your pertinent information. The provider on call will return your call as soon as possible. Please remember medications are not called in after hours.

APPOINTMENTS

We strive to accommodate the needs of our patients and will schedule your appointment at the most convenient time possible. If your need is acute and must be seen the same day, we will work you in with your provider or, if possible, another available provider.

We ask that you bring any medications you take regularly to every appointment. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment, 30 minutes prior if you are a new patient, to allow time to update office information and complete any necessary paperwork.

TELEPHONE CALLS

At Preston Medical Associates, we use an automated telephone system. If for some reason we miss your call during the business day, please leave a detailed message. All other clinical calls will be addressed by your provider within 24 business hours. In order to expedite your request, it is important you provide complete information in your message.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

Prescription refills should be requested through your pharmacy. They will fax necessary information to your provider. Refills, including sample requests, will be handled within 24-48 business hours.

TEST RESULTS

Lab results may take up to 10 business days and 2 weeks for pap smear results. You will be contacted by phone or mail once your results are reviewed by your provider.

REFERRALS

Your provider may request you see a specialist. If your insurance does not require authorization for your referral, you may contact the specialist directly for an appointment. If your insurance requires prior authorization our referral specialist will help you coordinate your appointment with in 48 hours.

NO SHOW POLICY

As a courtesy, we attempt to contact every patient to remind them of their appointment. However, it is the responsibility of the patient to arrive on time. If you arrive 10 minutes after your appointment time you may be asked to reschedule. Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance. Patients who do not cancel their appointment within 24 hours, will be charged a $25 no-show fee, $85 for physical appointments.

MEDICAL RECORDS

We will release copies of patient records with a written authorization. There may be a charge for this service based on the quantity of pages released and to whom records are being released.

CO-PAYS and COLLECTIONS

Your co-pay is due at the time of service. We are unable to discount or waive this fee due to our contracts with your insurance company. All deductibles are due at the time of service. You may be asked to reschedule your appointment if you are not able to make payment. We accept cash, checks, and credit/debit cards. There is a $25 returned check fee. Accounts more than 90 days past due are turned over to a collection agency.
